Biography

A city girl with Midwest roots and East coast influence, Kimberly is delighted to lead customer service efforts of TechTown’s front-line staff who passionately care for the TechTown facility and the tenants, coworkers, and event attendees who use its spaces to further their entrepreneurial efforts.

Kimberly spent a decade with Marriott Hotels until she was bit by the “nonprofit bug” that launched a twenty-plus year career serving mission-driven organizations in a variety of alumni relations, events management and fundraising roles. With this service mindset, Kimberly started a social enterprise to support women rebuilding their lives through the making of furniture and home décor using reclaimed wood and materials. She is a graduate and former board member of the Build Institute and currently serves her alma mater, Central College in Pella, Iowa, on its National Advisory Committee. She has a love for old buildings, serving as President and Treasurer for the homeowner’s association of the historic Detroit loft she calls home.

Outside of the office, Kimberly’s true passion is travel and she’s recently picked back up competitive sailing after a two-decade hiatus. When she’s not traveling or out on the water, you’ll find Kimberly exploring Detroit’s Woodbridge, Midtown, and New Center neighborhoods with her champion Belgian Sheepdog, Brady, while cats, Jack and Meg, lounge at home.
